There is no doubt that clean windows are a great treat, but often people have found the process to be far from satisfactory.
As we set out to build the premier window cleaning business, we decided to find out what it would take to be the best. As it turns out, it didn’t take much. In fact, it was pretty simple. We saw more examples of what not to do, than what to do. Thus, we took a piece of paper, wrote down everything wrong with the window cleaning industry on the right side of the paper (the “what not to do” side). Penned our Vantage philosophy based on the polar opposite of everything wrong in our industry on the right side (the “what to do” side). Next we tore the list down the middle, proceeded to throw away the “what not to do” side, and solemnly vowed to never make those mistakes in our company. You—the high-end residential customer—deserve too much more.
Although we threw that piece of paper away long ago, we are often reminded of those travesties in window cleaning. Here are a few of the problems we encounter which you will never have to worry about with Vantage:
*No one should be subject to the “cable company method” of scheduling. i.e. “We will be at your home sometime between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM, so be sure to (inconvenience your entire day because we are unreliable and) be there when we get there.”
*We thought it was slightly ridiculous that people couldn’t get their windows cleaned because they can’t get a hold of their window cleaner. Only to find out later he left for the cabin for a week. (This actually happens often!)
*If you are inviting a person into your private space to provide a service, it would be nice if they were clean cut, friendly, and professional. (not Luigi with a squeegee who may walk off with your Rolex)
*You shouldn’t have to wonder if that guy up forty feet on a ladder is actually insured, or really had the right equipment for the job. (As a side note, please click here to read about the equipment we use)
*If you need to talk to your window cleaner about a problem, or another service you would like completed, you shouldn’t have to worry about him getting mad. (This also happens more than we could imagine!)
*And if there is a problem that needs to be fixed, the company should take responsibility and fix it. (that smashed gutter from careless ladder placement is not your problem to deal with.)
*Your home is not a commercial building with 500 windows, and every window should be cleaned with great attention to detail.
These seem like pretty common sense principles, right? As we’ve built the company and fostered strong relationships with our clients, we saw time and again many of these simple things were not being done. Another example of “uncommon common sense?”
Vantage Window Cleaning was designed with you—the high-end residential customer—in mind. And it was built on a few common sense (we thought) principles.
*Reliable scheduling
*Clean-cut, professional, uniformed, insured and reliable workers.
*Excellent work
*Attention to detail
*A spirit to serve
